For 2021 the funds are distributed through TAP,
The Twirl Assistance Program
From our humble beginnings when the price of admission was a teddy bear for children with HIV/AIDS, to now – in our 12 years of events we have collected over 5,200 stuffed animals & toys for area children in need and donated over $240,000 to local charities and programming! Even as we evolve and grow, we remain committed to our core mission of “making a difference, one dance step at a time.”
In 2020 we started the Twirl Assistance Program (TAP). These emergency hardship grants are intended for self-identified Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, or Queer (LGBTQ) residents 18 years and older in the Charlotte metropolitan area, who are referred by partner agencies or therapists, or are impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, and who need financial assistance with groceries, medical, and/or transportation costs.
